EOCENE VOLCANICLASTICS IN THE KARTLI BASIN, GEORGIA: A FRACTURED RESERVOIR SEQUENCE

چکیده
In the broader Caucasus region, multiple extrusive volcanic units are present within Jurassic, Cretaceous, Eocene and Miocene sedimentary successions. Partial reworking of material from various provenance areas into Eocene, Oligocene reservoir is commonly observed in Eastern Black Sea Rioni, Kartli Kura Basins onshore Georgia. Reservoir quality has general been negatively affected by rock fragments which may have undergone complex diagenetic alteration. However, despite concerns regarding quality, oil at Samgori field, largest field Georgia (∼200 MM brl recovered), hosted altered Middle volcaniclastic sandstones interbedded with deep‐water turbidites. Previous studies core numerous wells this showed that most contained altered, microfractured, laumontite‐rich tuffs fracture cavernous net porosities averaging 12% average permeability 15 mD. The laumontite comprise only up to 20% a tuffaceous sandstone section occur as isolated lenses or pods on sub‐seismic scale (i.e. 5‐10 m thick), causing highly variable productivity one well another. petrographic analysis samples outcrops central part Basin around Tbilisi broadly confirms main conclusions completed some 30 years ago were based subsurface samples. surface analysed show zeolitization events typically did not improve, but actually reduced, due extensive zeolite cementation. poor properties plug samples, age‐equivalent proven interval, highlight fracturing key factor controlling presence exceptional producers (up 9000 b/d) complex. study therefore underlines critical role sequence Basin.

Palaeofluid evolution in a fractured basalt hosted reservoir in the Üllés-Ruzsa-Bordány area, southern sector of the Pannonian Basin
Extensive Miocene volcanic activity produced basaltic and pyroclastic successions, which were penetrated by many wells in the area of Üllés-Ruzsa-Bordány, in the western and central part of the Great Hungarian Plain. The Kecel Basalt comprises primary porosity from a high proportion of vesicles and significant secondary fracture porosity, as well. Due to the significant fracture porosity, some ...

Introduction Zoonotic diseases are an important cause of human morbidity and mortality; around 75% of recently emerging human infectious diseases are zoonoses. Herein we report the first seroprevalence study to include a range of emerging or re-emerging zoonotic pathogens of economic concern (including: Bacillus anthracis, Coxiella burnetii, Francisella spp., Brucella spp., and Crimean-Congo he...
متن کاملInvestigation of Underground Gas Storage in a Partially Depleted Naturally Fractured Gas Reservoir
In this work, studies of underground gas storage (UGS) were performed on a partially depleted, naturally fractured gas reservoir through compositional simulation. Reservoir dynamic model was calibrated by history matching of about 20 years of researvoir production. Effects of fracture parameters, i.e. fracture shape factor, fracture permeability and porosity were studied. Results show...
متن کاملEffect of Hydraulic Fracture on the Fractured Reservoir Based on the Connection with Natural Fractures
Hydraulic fracturing in the fractured reservoirs plays a significant impact on the production rate. In this study, the hydrostatic condition is taken into account, the hydraulic fracturing operation was applied in every direction usinga written distinct element code. In each direction the hydraulic fracture is applied with different lengths and in each level the amount of production is predicte...
